Hi everyone, it's me, Simon! I'm taking a break from playing with my turtle and swinging in my swing to tell you about our Labor Day, and my brother Clayton's and sister Joy's birthdays!
On Labor Day, our friend Kelley invited us over to go swimming and grill with her daughter Brooke and her family. We had such a fun time! I love to float on my back, and look what else we did there:
I had a LOT of sunblock on, but I love to float on my back and splash the water with my arms and legs.
Tommy was sliding off of the slide and landing right in the middle of a ring floatie. Cool!

Joy was glad to have girls to hang out with for once!
If you look really close, you can see Clayton flying off the slide like Superman!
Ira was jumping a lot off the diving board and also played the Wii with boys his age, a big treat forhim!!
So that was fun swimming--Mommy really loves her friend Kelley and we had so much fun hanging out with her family!
So I tried out some cereal in a spoon. It was pretty good, especially the MESS I got to make and no one got mad at me!
Of course, who could get mad at a face as angelic as this?
We got sick that week too.... I had a respiratory infection and had to have breathing treatments. YUCK. I cried and Daddy had to take over giving me my treatments, Mommy is a wuss and couldn't handle being the one to make me cry. But they worked, and I'm pretty much all better now.
September 10 is my big brother Clayton's birthday. He turned 5! We had a family party with Dad's side on the Sunday before, and another family party with Mom's side on the Saturday after (which just happens to be Joy's birthday). Uncle Marty was in town on Saturday, so the family was getting together for that too. It was great to see everyone. Here are some highlights from the festivities:
Mommy made Clayton his very own birthday cake on Friday night (his actual birthday). He loves red, and M&M's, so he asked for a chocolate cake and Mom threw in the finishing touches:
Okay, commercial break. This blog entry is brought to you by Simon---here I am playing in my car bouncy thing. I am really getting big, huh?
So, back to the blog. We were over at my Uncle Glenn and Aunt Michelle's house, where Mommy's side of the family was all there to visit with Uncle Marty and also to wish Clayton and Joy happy birthday. Clayton was pretty excited to be left alone with the bowl of chips
One of the things Joy wanted to do for her birthday was design and make her own Reese's Peanut Butter Cup Cake. After some experimenting with peanut butter cookie/cake combinations (tooo dry), Mom and Joy had some success with brownies and a peanut butter filling--Joy decorated the top with Reese's Peanut Butter Cups:
It was pretty funny watching Joy and Clayton trying to blow out the relighting candles---everybody just kept singing "Happy Birthday" over and over waiting for them to blow them out. Mom says there's a great video, but she can't get it to upload (of course).
I guess someone took this picture while I was zonked out on Aunt Michelle.
I had my FOUR MONTH checkup---here are my stats--ready?
I am 25 1/2 inches long-- in the 99.9th percentile for height
I weigh 16 pounds, 12 ounces-- in the 85th percentile for weight
Mom doesn't remember how big around my head is, but it's 56th percentile. The doctor says that my head and body are all height and weight proportionate. Of course I am, silly.
The other day, Mom and Clayton took me outside while we were watering trees. Here is a picture, my parting shot. Hope everyone liked my little blog entry and tune in for more soon! Love ya all!
